First new irons in 12 years, second new set ever

Went to Fore Golfers Only today, it's a dumpy golf shop in St Thomas, Ontario that sells a lot of used stuff but also sells new clubs that end up covered in dust and for some reason are the same price as nicer shops. Anyway, I've been looking at the Titleist AP2 and hit them at a shop on Friday. Hit them well and they were on sale for $1359. Problem is, as you know a lot of mid-handicappers use a combo set with cavity back AP3s for 4i and 5i then AP2s for 6i-PW. But you can't mix and match without custom ordering, you have to buy the full set off the wall. Well holy crap, Fore Golfers Only had a combo set AP3/AP2 that had just been traded in by a dude who must’ve custom ordered them. He had them bent 1 degree upright and softened the lofts a bit, but they were $799 vs $1359 and barely looked hit. I grabbed 3 brand new Vokey wedges : 50, 54, 58 for $150 each so all together the used irons($800) and new wedges($450) were $1250. They offered me $125 for my 12 year old Cleveland irons that I paid $240 for (pretty effin good) and $15 each for my Cleveland wedges (pretty poopy). So total cost minus trade value was $1095 and I got them to give me everything for $1000 plus tax. Pretty happy with that. So now I have Cobra F8 driver, 3 wood, hybrid, Titleist AP2/AP3 irons, and Vokey wedges. First time I've bought new clubs in 12 years and only the second time ever I've actually bought clubs vs having hand me downs. Although the Cobra F8 stuff is from last year and the irons are used. I've never actually bought current year golf stuff....

Gee, that 'dumpy golf shop' turned out ok... I got my set of MP33's a couple years ago from there for $150 and shot my best score ever with them. The place is what it is and its a hidden gem.

Yeah there is no doubt you can find good stuff there, I just don't understand why they don't keep it a little cleaner. First time I went in there I couldn't tell what was new and what was used because everything was dusty or dirty.
