Moving my X31 questions here. Can someone help my confirm the year. The PW is 36 inches, everything seems a little longer which Im happy about (im 6'4). Gonna leave the shafts alone and just bend the lies. These looks FUN to hit to me, i can't wait for spring.

I have a Golfworks Golf Club ID and Price Guide and based on the description in there, I believe you have the 1970/71 model.

Did they all come fluted ?

it just makes the bottom softer is the goal correct?

Does the fluted iron's basically stop after the 70s?

It's my understanding that the intention of the fluting was to decrease torque/twist.

Many clubs had them, Wilson putters for eg. Also I used badminton raquets in the 70s with this feature.

TP Mills also used fluted shafts in his putters in the 60s and 70s. They were also in Bulls Eyes. In fact I Installed a fluted Bulls Eye shaft in my Scotty Cameron. I am feel sensitive and love the feel of those shafts

I do not know a lot on Odyssey putters so I will ask. Did it come with it or did you put it in yourself?

It came with it for $35 at Roanoke Va Dick's Sporting good used. I started golfing again in '22 and was on a spring vacation, my $50ish Tour Edge putter insert broke and badly needed something cheap. Anyway i got the putte and i get along with it well.

Just another reference point but my current White Hot XG #9 gamer has a fluted shaft with the Odyssey band on it, feels absolutely wonderful with combo of TT fluted shaft and soft insert, etc. Bought it a few years back at a local used sporting goods store for about $40 and thought I overpaid at the time. Not sure I'd sell it for anything right now.
