Returning to the game (and forums)

In short - these forums have been incredibly helpful as my time playing golf ebbs and flows and I seek feedback for club-fitting and tinkering w/ equipment old and new. So... THANK YOU to many out there who take the time to post reviews, answer questions and provide feedback. It is appreciated more than you know.

For those who are interested:

I've loved the game since the early/mid-90s when I had the chance to watch multiple years in-person at the NEC World Series of Golf tourney, more recently known as the Bridgestone Invitational (Firestone CC in Akron). My father worked at Akron General Medical who sponsored the tourney, so we had free admission for 1-2 of the rounds.

Fast-forward to today and I'm living in St. Paul, MN. What really got me 'hooked' on the game, was my time in middle school and high school playing consistent golf with buddies who were on the school teams. I never played for the team, but got much better playing with those friends. Since then, I've played on and off. Had a stretch out of college where I played quite a few rounds, but then put the clubs away only to play 1-2x a year. Regardless of how much I play, I seem to always get back some rhythm/feel and end up wondering why I don't play more often.

Feels good to be back these days more than ever and keeping it fun. My current project is adding some length/more upright lie to the irons - 6'2" w/ average length arms and I've been playing std length/lie for a long time and just never took the time to get fit properly.

Hoping to help out some others on the forums in return for all the help I've received!

Welcome Matt, I'm David and I'm from Nottingham UK, not picking up a club in a while i can relate too. We were put into Lock-down over here back in March in the UK and I hadn't picked up a club in 3 months. My local golf course was the last in England to reopen since its a council run course but first round was rusty, So took another Range session and used some of Shawn Clement's tips from his youtube videos and gained 10 yards instantly with all clubs.

I like the history of the game of golf and its wonderful past and present players and I'm willing to help out if need :)
