Bag is Set, and the Back-Up, and the Back-Up's Back-Up....

I've finally settled in on a seemingly permanent bag setup, so much so, that I've now got identical backups of backups! What you see in my signature is what I've been playing for the better part of 6 months now, after getting SkyTrak and optimizing each spot in the bag(as well as on course results these past few months). Nothing I've tried in my vast club trial-and-error wins me over quite like these. Feel, forgiveness, and performance-wise, there are no new clubs(or old) that suit my eye and work as well for me. I've got 4 identical drivers, 2 TEE XCG7 4w's & 1 E8 4w, 3 same sets of irons, multiple shafts/sets for each spot, and small putter rotation depending on green speeds. So other than putter, each club will be cemented into place for the long haul. I'm tired of shaking things up and the break-in period that comes along with "new" additions to the starting lineup.

 

How many other folks are reaching the end of their ho'ing ways? Of course, there will always be a small amount of tinkering with new items, but it'll be very unlikely that I ever amass the huge stockpile of new stuff like I had from a year ago. Anyone else found their unicorn-like clubs and want to play them for decades+????

saying that though, im quietly confident my game bag is pretty safe for a while, have been toying with the idea of upgrading driver to either G410 or G400 Max, but with these uncertain economic kung flu times im still on the fence.

im still pottering around stalking fleabay (pretty much daily) for any good deals on shoes & also irons for a mythical "summer 9 hole single strapper" bag that may or may not eventuate though, after all this is WRX & i am single!

the deals have to be very very good though as international shipping prices have gone mental as of late.

I just sold off a bunch of clubs in order to get into G400s before they were no longer available. I have one classic backup bag that I'll use occasionally for nostalgia's sake. In other words, I don't need or want another set of clubs as it would only take up space in my garage and in my head...

I've been moving stuff, but still have 4 iron and wedge sets. Down to only 3 drivers and only older fairway woods currently (V-Steels, 906F2s and some Wishon 949MC's) as I sold off my others as I change my set up. Never been a big putter ho, so only have 3, 2 get rotated as needed.

Good to hear from a few folks, kinda thought my post may have come off as a little arrogant and unnerving to some. I will say it's very comforting to look at my bag now and be able to smile at the completeness of it all. As for most, I'd be lying if I said I'd never want another club again, and such are the confessions of a perpetual club ho, even at his best.
