Driver Shaft with the stiffest tip section

Long story short, I'm hitting the bottom of the club face way too often. My instructor suggested the tip section of my shaft might be whipping too much. Currently rocking an GD Tour XC7 XS shaft at 44.5'. Going to plug an older shaft in there that is 45' and the swing is a work in progress. Anyone out there experience a similar miss on the club face or have any shaft suggestions to remedy my woes? Will see a fitter but wanted to seek the wisdom of the GOLF WRX crowd as well. Thanks.

I guess that's possible, but it's more likely an ordinary swing fault that a different shaft will not fully remedy. I play very tip stiff shafts (Hzrdus yellow 6.5 and Ventus Blue 6X) and even with those my miss is low on the face (although my normal strikes are center or slightly above center).

As far as your swing goes, I would check your ball position (too far forward?), and then also see if maybe you are flipping your wrists at impact.

You're swinging a shaft that is overall very stiff in that flex and is specifically stated as being tip-stiff, and your profile says you're a 10 handicap. I know this is an armchair opinion, but it seems strange for your swing instructor to cite a lack of tip stiffness in your equipment. I recognize that this statement will be derided on this forum, but not that long ago there were very few options and very few people had access to many equipment changes. Everybody didn't just play bad golf all the time. Not saying your fit isn't an issue, but I'm skeptical of the specific advice given from an instructor. I'd absolutely not recommend self-guided hunting and pecking through high-end golf shafts. Also an unpopular position in here.

Flipping is a problem I have from time to time. Didn't see much of that on the tape but its something I'm working on. Appreciate the feedback. It was something we were seeing on the video. I'm not trying to chase equipment(although it is fun). Current shaft was a self splurge present and would love to make it work as well as a sustainable/effective swing. Grinding! This is a very good point. People like the TXG guys -- Ian and Matt -- have gotten so popular that I think a lot of people now think tech first and technique a distant second. Not saying this about the original poster or his coach, but just in general I think people are starting to treat golf as a sport where success is mostly driven by getting your specs dialed in with NASA-like precision. I am absolutely guilty of this from time to time, so I'm pointing at myself here, too. But it does feel like a growing tendency, especially among us Wrx-ers.
