Planning stages for return trip to Ireland ;) This time the wife is coming

I got the courses picked out,1)Royal Portrush,2)RCD,3)Portmarnock,4)European Club,5)Old Head,and 6)Donsberg.Played all the top courses in the southwest last trip except Dondberg,and i got to play Old Head again :lol: Need help on where to stay?I plan on driving this trip ,pick up car in Belfast or Dublin and returning it in Shannon.Any cost saving ideas would be appreciated. The dollar being at an all time low ;) ,i got to do some cutting without messing with the golf ! Thanks in advance... PS I play to a 2 and my wife is a 20 ....

not sure about how to save cost, but you will love the European

Stay away from booze and smokes...should save a ton of money. Use B&B whenever possible.

if you are going to play portrush and rcd - stay up in the northwest and play ballyliffin, rosapenna, cruit island, donegal, county sligo, enniscrone and carne

the courses and accomodation are cheaper for sure in this part of ireland - book early for the best prices

I live next practically next door to Portmarnock and Dublin airport. If your planning on playing "Old Portmarnock", you can lodge with me for a day or 2 gratis. PM if it's in your IT.

OK,,lets have some Famous Irish Hospitality,,Wife is 20,,I will have her, that should save you money ( joke) ..So give me a shout when in Dublin and I will take you to the Island,,saving money well the courses you have chosen are over priced in the extreme, [url="http://www.ballyliffen.com"]www.ballyliffen.com[/url] go there,,,36 holes,,Faldo tried to buy it,,members laughed at him, so he done a redesign on the Old course for them Freebie just to have his name on it, great value, cheap accom, and the best place on Earth, If you arrive during open week you can play for like $35 per day including competition fee. Murvagh ( Donegal),,wonderful,,Enniscrone,County Sligo etc,,,great value. Actually you could have 4 days Golf on great courses if you stayed away from the Names same price
Murvagh Ballyliffen and the European have the same designer. (Murvagh a redesign)

I just got back from Ireland in Sept...and if your main interest is saving money, SKIP Oldhead. It may be one of the most scenic courses in the world, but way overpriced...you can play three courses for what your gonna spend on it (especially if you have already played it). Doonbeg was by far the BEST CONDITIONED course we played...its a must. There are rooms on property, but looked very expensive.
