Low Bounce Lob Wedge Love

Picked up a few lob wedges for the next year. The Vokey is my main gamer but found other 2 at bargain prices and couldn't resist. 60s for my 4 wedge setup (46,50,55,60) and the 58 for my 3 wedge set up (46,52,58) that I use on longer courses.

I Love lob wedges too but I need a little more bounce! I have a Ping Glide Stealth (60.10) and a Jet Black SM8 (62.08) but mostly play the Ping glide. I’ll practice with the SM8 but I hit the glide much better and with more spin.

Bounce is your friend my friend.  I have Glide 3.0 wedges that I had leading edge and heel relief ground in.  It makes them WAY better for me with the bounce I need.

Great to see someone else that likes low-bounce lob wedges.  I will be switching my 58 deg - 9 deg bounce to an RTX4 Xtra Low bounce soon.  I need it for the Texas hard pan that I've got to deal with.

 

What are your likes/dislikes of one over the other clubs you've got here?

Flop shot gang 4 life! I play on a hard/dry links style courses most of the year, so I love the low bounce in my LWs. I have a high bounce Vokey D grind SW (56/12@55/11) which takes care of softer sand and rough.

 

Thinking of getting a 54/12D bent to 52 so I can use it in my 3 wedge set up because I absolutely love that grind.

The T and TS grind are definitely easier to pitch with compared the the xLow because of how small the forward bounce surface is. All 3 sit super flush to the ground when opened up and would recommend all 3 to anyone who loves a low bounce lob wedge.

 

I was gonna get the Vokey SM8 Wedgeworks 58/06K with the hand ground heel+trailing edge relief option (similar to the Vokey J grind) but got the xLow on sale for $80 bucks.
