Heel shafted vs gooseneck?

I recently picked up a Mizuno Tour 940 mini mallet with a gooseneck. I love it.

 

I came across a Nike that is similar, only it's a heel shaft. Since most my other putters are heel shafted, I was wondering if the Nike might be better. Or maybe the reason I'm putting so well with the Mizuno is because of the gooseneck?

 

Was curious what others prefer? I might get the Nike because why not

Usually the goosenecks are face balanced or near it. Lay it on a table and let the head hang off. See where the face naturally hangs. Is it face up ?  If so it’s face balanced.  Heel shafted is usually opposite, as in toe down.

Interesting, the Nike is listed as face balanced, that's what made me wonder. I'll check my Mizuno, thanks.

Gotcha. So heel shafted you mean not like a 8802 blade heel shafted. That’s what I meant when I said toe down. My bad. 
 

yes the heel shafted with the double bend like the Nike pic is probably face balanced. I’d bet the goose neck is almost but not 100 % face balanced.    Curious to see

I've had the same putter since '89 until last summer when I got bored. I've just started playing with different ones seeing what works.

 

I love my 8802, but I was getting a few off the toe. The Mizuno seems to hit much more square (heads up putting style). 

 

There is another on back order that is straight heel shaft, not a double bend that I hope to see next month (I have issues).

The plot thickens.

 

So my OG putter and my milled putter are straight face balanced. My 8802 isn't. The Mizuno and my Rainbow are both 3/4ish? The Rainbow blade is straight 45*. The Mizuno is more like 30* open. 

 

Now if I end up with the Nike we can see what's up. I'm learning so much.

I have a slight arc and really like the Anser with a plumber neck look but I prefer more face balance. I noticed Evnroll has some with the deeper flange which actually looks good and is close to if not face balanced.

The Nike should be here by next weekend. I'm interested to see how it's balanced compared to the Mizuno and how it performs.

So the Nike is slightly larger than the Mizuno. I don't like the grip, but my grip should be here soon. The face balanced does seem to fit better with my swing. 

 

I don't want anything bigger than this, that's for sure.
