Experience with Ernest Sports ES14 or ESB1

This one has always caught my eye, but can't find much non-bias feedback.  Don't feel like dropping $400-$500 unseen.  Anyone use?  Thoughts?

Just recently got the ES B1, and so far (2 outdoor range sessions) am really pleased with it. It fails to register very few shots, and the only shot where it’s numbers were clearly way off was when I sculled a lob wedge.

I’m still getting used to the app, and I haven’t bothered with the voice control as yet. I haven’t compared it ‘head to head’ with an enterprise device, but anecdotally the club head speed, ball speed, spin rates and launch angle data all appears to be close to what I’m expecting to see.

Thanks.  This sound positive.  Leaning towards the ES B1 because it is behind you.  Not sure if it makes a difference, but I would think the on in front would be more pron to an accident.

Did a write up about my useage with the ES14

 

Including some data and reading.

 

 

The BIGGEST Issue for me now, is Indoor use and the lack of dispersion or side to side reading.  This is why I finally moved to the Mevo+.

 

Its a big jump $500- $2000 But for me it was finally worth it

I did read your post after I raised the question.  Great info!!!  I'm not going $2k.  I did see Voice Caddie came out with a 300i.  That app looks really good.  Seems like the apps are the biggest issue across the board.  The Mevo+ looks great, but not ready for that jump.

Couple issues for me with the VC SC300 (not the "i", I need to read further)

 

To get spin with the SC300 you need the app. 

 

The ES14 you dont need an app as the LCD screen spits out the data. The App is a bonus especially if you can set it up to project on a larger screen/TV.  

 

The ESB1 app is supposed to be better supported and updated, the ES14 is just the old model.  ALSO the ESBI1 setus up behind the Golfer not on the Side.  Not going to lie, this makes me more comfortable.

 

 

If you can afford the ESB1 its worth the JUMP from the ES14.

 

If not they basically do the same thing and unless you can get an ES14 for well under $300 I would say the ESB1 for $500 is worth it.

 

 

The one thing I have NOT tested and am curious since it does provide simulator/dispersion is the Garmin R10 but the last couple of things I heard was, it was a  "Toy"...... that stuck with me, BUT I have not given it a fair shake of research.

I agree about having the monitor behind than in front.  Less odds of mistakes!!!!!  The sc300i gives great info but it does require the app.  My issue is I'm an Android user.  That is always suspect depending who offers what.

nothing a super cheap, Iphone 5 or Iphone 6 with your local craiglist or ebay couldnt fix.

 

get one just to pair up app wise when you go to the range for practice or at home.   old phones that still run the app could be had for a song these days....
