Like the Garmin G80 for launch monitor function

As I understand it, the Garmin G80 just sits right in front of the ball and gives you some basic numbers that seem to be pretty accurate. It doesn't need to be setup 6' behind the ball and then the ball needs to be 8' away from a net/target...

 

Are there any other devices that work the same way? Where it just needs to be setup right in front of the ball? I suppose the SC200+ works this way in practice swing mode?

Any camera-based systems work like this: gcquad/2/3, skytrak...

 

Difference is they are actual launch monitors,  which the g80 is not.   G80 measures very basic ball and club data.  You can get similar info from the prgr as well.

 

You can't really use a g80 for anything more than ball and club speed, which really doesn't tell you much. Estimated distance assumes ideal launch conditions,  which probably don't apply to most people.

What's your budget friendly suggestion for a personal device? Are the Flightscope MEVO's really worth it?

I use the SC200+ in my small home setup. It's helpful in a lot of ways. Good device for the price.
