Does anyone game Graphite Design Iron shafts

Hi.

 

I was wondering does anyone have any experience with the GD AD iron shafts?

 

I've an opportunity to buy some at a very good price and put them in my Jpx 921 forged irons.

 

I currently have UST recoils but am not getting on with them as my dispersion is suffering.

 

They are virtually impossible to get in the UK and I'm sorely tempted as I love my GD AD driver shaft and also have them in my TSi2 hybrids

 

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Sorry, might find someone but I never ran across anyone who was willing to pay those crazy prices.

Do you know why you're not getting along with them?   Too heavy? too light? too stiff? too soft?   Then it could also be something else about the build and not necessarily the shaft - e.g. swing weight or playing length.

 

Until you understand that, it can be a wild goose chase (or throwing money away) just trying random alternatives.

 

Which version and flex of the recoils?

What was the shaft - make, model, weight, and flex - that you last played that gave you good results?

 

Poor dispersion for someone who has recently gone to graphite in their irons is more commonly a problem of too light but any of those problems has the potential to mess up dispersion.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I have recently gone from KBS taper 110 to graphite as I was suffering with golfers elbow. The graphite has helped with that issue but I may have gone too light at 65g.

 

The GD AD's are 95g,so that may help with dispersion.

 

They are a "bargain" used at 250 USd which is why I thought I may give them a try and I have reshafted myself, so that isn't a cost issue.

 

As mentioned before, I love the tour AD in my driver and hybrids.

 

Decisions decisions....🤣

Lucky, $250 for a set is a more than a bargain, it's a steal 🙂  They are normally $130 per shaft for the 95's.

 

If not there are also heavier versions of the Recoils.  Both 95 and 110 gm version are fairly popular for those who need heavier graphite shafts.   The graphite will typically help with the elbow issues even if you maintain the same weight as the steel.

I've got GD Tour HY 85 g in my hybrids; 5, 4, and 3h.  Love them.  Super smooth, great loading, optimal trajectory.

If money isn't an issue, then go with the MMT line.  Previously had the Recoil protos and the MMT is more accurate for me and launches a little lower.

I ended up going for KBS Tour PGI's.  Absolutely loving them. Really smooth and lovely ball flight, high but penetrating.
