Cordillera golf courses

For those of you that have played all three of them, how do you rank them?  And why?

These are just my opinions but I have over 350 rounds played over the 3 courses. +2 HDCP

Disclaimer: There are places you can hit the ball where it is literally impossible to get the ball up and down over these 3 courses, so have fun and enjoy the views

 

Mountain Course. Least played maybe around 50 times: for me its last and not really even close. Has some of the best tee balls at Cordillera but quite a few not so great holes. " Target golf " would be an appropriate term. It was a really hard piece of land to build on, probably 1000' of elevation change from the lowest hole to the highest hole. The lady players have always liked it but i'm not sure why. (maybe not as many forced carries?) PS Shells wonderful world of golf has an episode there

 

Valley Course. played 75 times: Great course, by far the most fair and straight forward, while not being a pushover by any means. If you hit good shots you will be rewarded you can't say that about the other 2. It's a classic Fazio with fairway designed to give you that little push in the right direction and the greens are the easiest to read. Course is in the best shape of the 3 due to the longer growing season/ facing south as well.

 

Summit Course. Played a lot: It's really neat, I think it's the prettiest but I'm a bit bias. Wide enough fairways but you need them because it's a auto retee if you miss them. Greens are separated into sections so in order to have a good look you need to know what section the pin is in and get the ball to come to a stop in that section/ if you miss that section it will be a difficult two putt. It's dynamic, you start out in woods, move to the open with some serious views, move into valleys surrounded by aspens and pop up on 18 tee and your at 9200'. This picture is looking back from the back tees on 18 over 15,16,17.

 

I've got lots more pictures and info if anyone ever needs it.  We sold the house after 16 years this last summer. It was a great run but the great thing was we never took it for granted.

Thanks for the information and pictures.  I played the valley and mountain courses several years ago. I plan to play Summit in August along with the Red Sky courses.

Yeah you will love the summit. I would try to get two rounds in there as you learn so much the first go around

I'm actually going to red sky this summer too. They are good courses too just different than Cordillera

I just got off the phone with Cordillera and they are now 100% private and only reciprocate with Troon clubs.

So, I need to find another course in the Beaver Creek area or play Red Sky one more time.

 

Any suggestions?

I'd play red sky again there are a few public courses around they are ok just not as good as red sky. The best one in the area is in Eagle

Eagle Ranch is a great course. I'd probably play Red Sky first, but if you want something a little different, Eagle Ranch is a great option.
