Golf Course Pics from Ireland

Just Wanted to post some pics to say thanks for the info.

Here are a few pics from my trip to Ireland in November.

The first pics are of Royal County Down, in Newcastle, Northern Ireland.

2nd round are of the Isalnd Course in Donabate, just outside Dublin on the coast.

I hope you enjoy them.

Thanks you guys. Ya everytime i look at these pics I wish I were back in Ireland.

 

I also like the fifth picture. Its the famous 9th hole on the Championship course of RCD.

 

Your Tee shoot is completly blind as you stare at the side of a hill with only a white stone to aim at. You have to hit the ball high enough to clear the hill (approximatly 40-50 feet) but not ballon it as you are playing into a sidewind.

 

You can see my tee shot in the picture, in the middle of the fairway but far back, as my tee shot was dead straight but the hole was playing into the wind. It left me with a 215-220 yard shot into the green.. into the wind. I hit a 5 wood to about 50 feet in front of the green and them a bump and run on.

 

My Friend/Local Senior Caddie told me that in summer my tee shot would have left me a 8 or 9 iron into the green as there is not as much wind and the fairways have a lot of roll.

You are looking at #1 (IMO) with the pics of Royal County Down (NI).

 

Royal Portrush is right there with it.

Ballybunion, Lahinch, too many to list really. Ireland is heaven for a golfer! I can't wait to get back there.

Where was the best place for an after round Guinness for you.

One of the best places I've travelled too.(If you're ever there recommend spending some time on the Aran Islands, Doolin, Galway, Clifden, Dublin, Lisburn to name a few)
