Getting used to MB's

Finally got out to course with newly acquired Titleist 710 MB iron. I've been practicing at home for a while now and getting some decent results and looking forward to breaking 80 again. (Carded 83 on 70.5/125 rated course. PW is 710 CB.

One reason I purchased a used set of 710 MB was due to the success I had with a 695MB 5 iron. The 710 MB set I got was missing the 5 iron so I just threw in the 695 instead. In reviewing Titleist irons, I am curious as to why the Z design only came out in that year. The description states the reason at the time was to take a little weight off the heel and relocate towards the center. Having worked for Acushnet for a few years and knowing some of the R&D guys, I can understand some of their "fickleness" for lack of a better word. I was a bit disappointed when they let Pavin (Corey's brother) go. He was a great guy. Also, downsizing is what happens every so often. they let 150 of us go without warning one summer morning.

IMO Titleist fancy Z irons didn't get much attention, due to specs and Z.  I didn't like the look.  Guys that play MBs like blade simplicity.  I have been playing MBs for most of the 30yrs, now 620 MBs.  A designer using CAD, can easily ruin what otherwise would be a damn good MB.

sounds about right. I am sure the Z-s play as well, but appearance means a lot also. You are sporting an impressive set as well. oh, btw are you still playing LVCC ?

I love my MB's. Playing T100 and they are fantastic, but the MB's... 🥰

 

I have my MB's always ready to go if I want to let the T100s rest a couple rounds.

mebbe got u confused with another...LVCC = Las Vegas Country Club. I recall some one saying he had a white golf cart with a logo. I was comp'd there a few times
