Shaft length questions

Hey all,

 

I just made this account so hopefully I am not submitting this thread in the wrong topic. So I am buying a set of shafts from Billy Bob's Golf and I am confused about the length of shafts they are showing. I don't know much about club building, but I thought the length of a standard six iron was 37.5", and this is showing 39". Is this due to different measuring conventions or something? Thank you!

Those look a bit long, and it doesn't say if that's finished club length or raw shaft length. It also assumes  1/2" difference from club to club. I have a 3/4" difference with mine. Maybe they are assuming you'll butt trim to your own spec? IMO the way to get the shaft length that's best for you is to order them uncut and then do your own tipping and butt trimming to the length you want.

Those are the raw, uncut shaft lengths being shown.   Nothing to do with playing length.   Pick based on what iron you want to install the shaft(s) in.

 

They couldn't cut them based on playing length even if you wanted them to because that will be different for different head models.
