Does stroke lab counterweights depend upon the length of the putters?

Recommended Posts

Do you mean Stroke Lab? Super Stroke is a grip brand.

No they don’t, they must’ve screwed up your order tbh. And if the weights were to vary by length (which they don’t), the counter-weight would get heavier for a longer putter, not lighter

Did u order it with a super-stroke grip which has a counterweight slot? If yes then maybe they were expecting you to insert your own ss counterweight? I still highly doubt they would do that but idk

I bought a 33 inch Stroke Lab Ten that measured 32 inches and cut it down to 31-1/4.  It had a 31 or 32g brass tip weight.  Accidentally cut the brass weight in two.

I switched the grip to a standard size Odyssey White Hot Pro grip and ended up with a C6 SW after removing the tip weight.

I have small hands so that grip feels the best out the ones I've tried.

My experience supports the assertion that they add counterweights to all the putters regardless of length.

I picked up a new 35 inch Odyssey Ten  2 Ball Triple track putter. It does not have a counter weight. The swing weight is E3. I also had a Toulon stroke lab putter reshafted by Callaway with the new 3Gen Green Stroke lab shaft. It came back with no counter weight. I am wondering if they are no longer counter weighting the stroke lab putter? Or if they are out of counter weights and just gripping them hoping we won't notice. Blame it on supply chain. LOL

I just talked to Callaway customer service and the Two Ball ten I have is correct at total weight of 549g. He thought that total weight should have also included a counter weight? Unless they have a new weight that you can't feel when inserting a long needle through the grip hole, something must be going on with the shafts. This one has the red stroke lab shaft in it. He said he would check with the repair department and custom department to see if something new is going on.

Well similar to the grip, there’s also hole on the top/bottom of the counterweights where a needle will pass through

The latest weights that Callaway sent me are similar to the Super Stroke weights with a flat cap and foam around the brass to fit snugly into the shaft.  Pictures attached. The previous bullet type brass weight did have a hole in it, but the hole only goes part way in the weight. I did not use a needle to check, I used a small 3" allen wrench. I would just check to make sure there is a weight in the shaft.

Never seen those weights, that isn’t what comes stock. I pulled one out of my putter a few months ago:6994C5E6-840B-47D3-90B1-F936F044137B.jpeg.b6a556905f8ea89bcbd30445ac8d5343.jpeg

Apparently, that is second version of the old style weight. The first versions did not have the rubber rings and were epoxied into the shaft. I also pulled one like yours out of a 7s a year ago. The new weights are the ones Callaway sent me two weeks ago. Either way, they both are 30g and much easier to remove than the epoxied ones.

Yeah i’d much rather have the ones you have, would be cool if they offered different weight option too. How did you get those from Callaway anyway?

I bought a used 34" Stroke Lab Toulon Las Vegas on here for a good price. The swing weight was very heavy. E7. I pulled the grip off and discovered it apparently had been cut down and someone put a plug in the end to get it back to 34". There was no weight and I couldn't get the plug out. I called Callaway and it only cost $65 to re-shaft the putter with new 3Gen stroke lab shaft plus grip including shipping both ways. The sent shipping label and promised the shaft would include shaft counterweight as well. Putter came back with wrong grip and no weight. I called and they said ship is back and they would make corrections. It came back again with correct grip but still no weight. I called a third time and they said the would send me a new grip and the correct counter weight. The grip came back first and then about a week later they sent the weights pictured in the pics above. It was a cluster but eventually, all was good. That's why I questioned whether they are sending putters out without the counter weights. The putters are built and repaired in Monterrey Mexico at Callaway's facility.
