Sore pinky on lead hand

I recently picked up a Rapsodo MLM, because it seemed like a steal for $200.  And I wanted to be able to hit more balls in the long winter.  Since I've started hitting more balls  I've developed some soreness in my pinky in my lead hand.   It's in the knuckle closest to my palm, and it's a pretty dull pain if I push that finger backwards with my palms pointing up.   

 

The only thing google turned up was a "trigger finger" injury, but they describe that as the finger sort of catching and popping, and it doesn't do anything like that, so that doesn't seem right.   I've hit plenty of balls before, but never experienced this.  

 

Has anyone ever had this?  Anything to do besides rest/ice, etc?

 

Is this happening because my grip is wrong?    I probably was holding the club a little bit too much in the palm, but even fixing that hasn't lessened the pain, or allowed it to heal.  Is there something in my release is wrong and I'm trying to hold the face causing it to over extend?

Grips possibly too small or too much pressure holding the grip? Maybe time for new grips or size up ever so slightly.

Thanks.  That’s an interesting thought.  I did just put new Pure DTX grips on my clubs this winter, and they are definitely smaller than what I had before.

You could also be gripping it too far into the palm, forcing you to really try to "squeeze" the pinkie finger into the palm/heel pad to hold onto the club.
