Paradym Hybrid

I haven’t played a hybrid in probably 5 years or so. Have bounced around between a 5/7 wood with pretty consistent success. Big gap though between 4 iron and 5 wood. Taking some off of a fairway wood has never been my bread and butter. 
 

My hybrid for me used to be automatic and effortless. It was my go to club. As I started taking golf more serious and improved, the hybrid, strangely, became harder and harder to keep straight. So, moved to the 5 wood. 
 

I honestly wasn’t even looking at making a switch from the 5 wood. Was at a local shop a couple weeks ago and was just killing some time. Picked up a Paradym hybrid, set it down(address position) and it was love at first sight. 
 

Had one sent and have used it a few times now. It’s incredible! Just arrow straight and it is an effortless 235-240 yards for me. I picked it up with the HZRDUS Silver hybrid shaft, fully intending to swap it with an AD-DI. The club beat the shaft by a few days so I couldn’t wait to try it. I’m not switching shafts. I couldn’t ask for anything more out of it. 
 

Long winded there but if you’re considering a hybrid this year, do yourself a favor and put the Paradym at the top of your test list!

I got one on order myself. I have the mavrik pro, which is a very nice hybrid, but I saw the Paradym at the shop too and it’s a work of art. Ordered the 21 degree. Glad to hear the shaft is decent as that’s what I ordered too.

Any more reviews on these? Any comparisons to the UW? The face looks similar and head size close and adjustable. Could be a good option, but haven’t seen much for reviews.

Just went to a Callaway demo/fitting day at my club and gravitated towards this club very quickly. Unfortunately the didn’t have the UW on hand but the PD hybrid was a delight. I guess the selling point is that it has fairway wood stylings, which I found very appealing. Very smooth looking at address and no weird bulk or hockey stick looking stuff going on.

 

Interestingly, for me, I found it to have less spin with more consistent carry and distance than the apex pro 21 hybrid. 

 

It felt comfortable off the tee and I could manage the ball flight into the wind - I didn’t have any issues with ballooning and could send out a more penetrating flight like a long iron if I wanted to. 
 

At no point did at feel like i had to fight it with left misses. 
 

The one thing I would suggest to anyone that is curious is that the PD seems like it breaks the mould in terms of “if you want to hit a hybrid you have to hit it like an iron, not a wood”.

I just got in my Custom Callaway Paradym Hybrids after only 4 days.  I picked them up and hit a medium bucket with them.  The turf interaction is sweet.  Definitely a mid launch but very forgiving even on low strikes.  We're using old midwest range balls that have seen a few winters but the gap from 18 to 24 seemed perfect.  I noticed any change to loft has a pretty good impact on face angle.  I can't wait to play Saturday on the course.  Its going to be a good year..

Once I hit them off the turf I didn’t like it. The sole was too wide. Reminds me of titleist hybrids. I picked up the apex pro 21 and much better!

Love my Paradym triple diamond driver that arrived on Saturday.  I haven't tested any hybrids this year because I love my setup which is a tour issue Rescue 11 from way back in the day.  Previously had the 1st gen Diamana Thump, but it's even better now with the Ventus Black HB.  However, you have me interested now to test a Paradym hybrid........

The shape does remind me of a Titleist TS2 hybrid which is a great hybrid imo.

I went with the X after trying both.  I "can" hook the X, but it's really easy to hit up in the air and with any decent or better swing goes arrow straight for me.  And the "lefts" I do get are more of a draw than a huge hook like I've had with some hybrids.  The regular hybrids flew straight and far for me, but wouldn't have held any green with the lower trajectory and lower spin I had.  

 

Try them both, I was surprised I got fitted into the X version, but I'm happy with it and have no regrets.   Same experience with the fairways, my 3HL Paradym X is amazing, and the 5W X is soooooo easy to hit off the turf.

I got a chance to demo them yesterday. Like you, I ended up in the X. I found the PX Silver shaft a good fit also. I typically go aftermarket, but it just wanted to hit 10 yard draws. I’m looking forward to getting it in the bag.

Yeah, the HZRDUS Silver shaft works for me too.  I have it in everything but my wedges.  Catalyst in those.

just picked up a paradigm 18* with a Tour AD HY75....loving it so far. I really like the sound, reminds me old school metal fairways.
