Which One Should I Buy and Why?

I think the Evnroll is a nicer looking putter but I’m slightly nervous about the “dead” face although I rolled one in store and I think it has been improved compared to previous models.

I know the Spider is tried and true but not crazy about looking down at it.

Thoughts?

Maybe I should have worded this thread differently… what do YOU all like and dislike about these two putters.. and between the two, which one would you buy? For what reasons?

I feel like I’m trying to start a conversation with an uninterested 10 at a bar!

The spider is higher moi, for whatever that is worth. Not sure of the toe hang on the evnroll but the spider will be really close to fave balanced with the L neck hosel.

I would go with the spider...can customize alignment and higher moi.

They are quite different products. Personally I think the Evnroll is a better quality product from a manufacturing standpoint, at address they look like a one piece design, they are really well put together. I've never felt that they were 'dead', just soft.

But just because it's a better quality product, pick whichever one you putt best with and prefer the feel of.

Sorry, but only you can answer this question.   Especially if you tested both of them. Then you should already have your answer.   I wouldn't put too much weight on which has higher MOI.  High MOI doesn't mean a lot if the putter doesn't fit your stroke or suit your eye.   Confidence is too big a part of putting to ignore.

Unfortunately can’t test the plumbers neck Spider because it’s a MySpider custom order option only. Also struggling to find a plumbers neck Evnroll EV5.2 or 5.3 anywhere around me. Making the process a lot more difficult

I plug it a lot, but don't sit on Wilson Staff. Their infinite line is really nice and I think the face milling is a nice sweet spot of not too soft not too firm. I found the Evnroll face super soft and could never get speed right with it, though as stated already here everyone is different. Their fit and finish are very nice though if you like the face tech.

The TM stuff is likely more accessible to try. I liked their face tech ok, but wasn't thrilled by it. Cobra putters are really nice though I found the quality to be hit or miss.

Try going to a brand agnostic place like club champion or golftec, etc... and trying out as many putters as you can to see what fits you best. It is much cheaper to buy once and get it right than to take suggestions in hopes they will fit you.

I was just teasing, so take it with a grain of salt. As to your latter question, it would likely be the Evnroll for me. My favorite putter to date is the White Hot OG 7CH. Aside from the back bar, it has much that same look, and I like the black color. I have an Odyssey that is similar to the GTX and can't stand it. It's sits in my garage as a reminder of how easy it is to talk myself into a silly purchase.

My experience:

I moved on from the TM Spider GT to the EVNROLL ER5:  becuase distance control and lag putts.  Initially the ER5 was too soft and I felt like i couln't control the distance.  A 3-4 putting sessions 45-60min each and I got very comfortable.  In the last few weeks I have really dialed it in Lag Putts are great, 3 putts an extreme rarity and I am sinking some putts 14-30ft that I have no business draining.  It is the primary reason I dropped 2.5 strokes on my index in the last month.  There is a learning curve but, for me the juice was worth the squeeze....

I will just finish with this...  Find a putter you like, commit to it, practice and you'll become a better putter.

Found myself in a PGA SS today and after about an hour of trying just about everything, I walked out with a LAB LINK.1

I guess if this experiment doesn’t work out I’ll revisit the Spider/EV 5.3 debate hahaha

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
