Alta Mesa CC course reno?

My place backs up the 3rd fairway at Alta Mesa CC. Just wondered if anyone had some info about what's going on. About 5 weeks ago they killed all of the grass on the fairways and the have now removed all of the dead sod. Obviously, they are introducing a new variety of grass. They also look to be rehabbing the lake banks. Are there any members out there that can add some details?

So we are doing some major work on both sides of the course. The long story short is we are redoing the lakes to stop erosion, then we are reseeding the entire course, the front 9 now, the back will start in mid July. Only have 9 holes available at a time this summer but we got some great deals at other tracks to help out with that. 

 

We're changing the grass on the course to be this new bermuda called tif tuf. Its a ploy to save water and money throughout the year as we won't have to over seed ever again. The grass is only dead for 1 month a year in Arizona and then they'll just paint it to look nice lol. I'm really looking forward to October golf this year as the weather is nice but over seed usually closes us down.

 

Speaking of this new tif tuf, Mesa CC is going to be re doing their fairways to the same tif tuf, while also redoing green side bunkers, the greens and their irrigation system. That place should be really nice once that is all done. I expect a lot of courses moving to this new grass, we have had it on #1 for a year and a half now and members have really enjoyed it, should be sweet this fall!
