Putters - One from each decade (tiny collection)...

I have heard that many people on here have large collections of putters.  I am slowly starting out with a "one of each decade" type of thing.  They all are in rotation when practicing, but my #1 gamer is my prized Odyssey White Hot 2.0 XG #1 with the jumbo grip.  I hit the lottery when I found that putter, LOL!

 

But yet, looking at my putters below, I am missing the 1960's.  I have been on eBay, and instantly realized it is a deep "rabbit hole" as the saying goes!  Countless old, vintage, Wilson 8802 putters, which I would LOVE to add to my collection.  Should I?  Shouldn't I? Hmmmm....

Thanks....  Yeah, no modern 2020 putters (yet).  Most likely it will be an Odyssey Tri-hot 5K from Golf Galaxy.  I tried it out recently and loved it -- but not the price! OMG. 😵

 

Speaking of the old Ping B60, that is actually my #2 putter, and sees the most practice time when not gaming my White Hot XG (which permanently stays in my bag!)

Yeah I liked the tri-hot 5k as well but agree on that price, way too high for what it is. My first Odyssey was $99 new and came with two tickets to the tour championship. The prices now... yikes.

Agreed they are pricy, you should check out Callaway Pre Owned, they have some Tri Hot 5K 1's in the "like new" bucket that are $172. I have boughten like new clubs from there that come in the original packaging.

Thanks...  The story behind that "Clone" of the Rossie, dates back to the late 90's/spring 2000, right at the Y2K craze, when my nextdoor neighbor (back then) introduced me to a friend of his who made/assembled clubs in his basement as a hobby.  You know... Pine Meadow, Golfsmith, Giga Golf, yada yada yada...  One thing led to another, and he said he could make me a putter for $20 bucks.  I took him up on it and toss a $20 to him.  Weeks later, when he was at my neighbor's house, he brought the putter to me.  It's a knockoff/copy of the Rossie mallet but with one single lower sight line instead of two, and the same 3 upper sight lines.  He even went a step further and adhered a nametag on it with my name spelled out! 😎

Get an 8802 or a Bullseye. You can find them cheap.
 You’ve got a Pal from the 70s - close enough to the iconic Anser! 
Cool 80s B60. I bought a used one at Golf Mart for $15. I don’t play it but I have it for nostalgia’s sake.

Thanks.... Thinking back to my post and idea of picking up a Wilson 8802 somewhere... I honestly, seriously, doubt I could sink putts with it, as it has like 90° toe-hang, and would require a very strong arc putting stroke.  I don't know... Maybe, maybe not...

8802 is one of the only putter types I've never gotten along with, despite trying many. That back flange just makes my eye not line it up correctly. I guess it depends if you plan to game it vs round out the collection.
