Things are starting to look up

Finally. I think I am out of my putting funk. I posted some time ago about my putting struggles all of the sudden. Two SC putters later, many many grips, shaft adjustments, etc....I feel like finally things are coming together. After working with my instructor on putting and official introduction to AimPoint, I had lowest putts in my league yesterday (11 for 9 holes). During Amazon Prime Day, in July, I purchased the Perfect Practice putting mat. I think since then, I made thousands and thousands of putts on that thing, into the smaller hole. I really focused on my mechanics and making sure my setup and stroke is the same on every putt. I started to make more and more of them in. Finally, last week I had 16 putts (usually I was 18-20 putts per 9 holes in my league). I think league is a great gauge on progress and to see if things are improving because it's consistent. I don't have an excuse of "well, new course, I don't know the greens", or "faster greens to what I am used to play on".. etc.

Now with AimPoint, the biggest thing for me that I am working on is synching what I feel with finger measurement. I am still getting the hang of it, if it's 1, 2 or 3 fingers, but most of the time, I am pretty close. If I miss, next putt is really a tap in.

I settled on my putter with 2x 40g weights and added 25g counterweight to Metador large grip. This setup is what I always come back to. Also, my loft was adjusted to 4.5 degrees (after SAM fitting) and lie is at 72.

I think the putting matt really helped with the "touch" and distance control. The only drill I do is putt over 2 tees that I putt the ball between like my instructor showed me.

That is all. Just wanted to share. This was really in my head and messing with me for some weeks, ruining what could be otherwise really good rounds. Having over 40 putts in a round is no fun. Hopefully I can now shave off some strokes going forward.

Best of luck. I think feeling more and more confident in your approach will ultimately yield the results you want. From your other posts, it sounds like before you tinkered a lot which is not wise for someone struggling mentally with putting. You need to stand over the ball and feel like you can hole it and it seems like you are moving in that direction.
