East River 9

Might have to check this out.  It opened last November.  Even closer to downtown Houston than Gus Wortham.  And you can tee off until 7 PM as they light the course up.

Its a fun little track.  Played twice and enjoyed both times.  A bit on the pricey side, but fun.  I have not played at all this summer so no idea how the lack of rain may have affected it.  I will be playing there mid October for an event.

Played it last weekend early in the day. If you go out when its not that busy, play both sets of tees on each hole to get "18" in. Nice condition considering the weather this summer, I'm sure with the recent rain itll get even better.

Have they changed the fee structure?  Used to be 9 holes per tee time.  That is why I said a bit pricey.  18 for $40 would not be too bad.

I was actually curious about this. How busy is it early in the day? 

 

I have a busy weekend but wouldn't mind ducking out for a quick nine early, especially if I can wrangle in some extra shots and short game work...

It’s the same fee structure, $40ish for 9 holes. But if you play both tees you effectively get 18 for the same price if you aren’t holding up pace

We went off at 7:20 and played in about an hour and a half. Not sure if that’s typical, but I was pleased with that pace for a Saturday

I see, so you hit 2 balls each hole.  I was thinking you walked 18, i.e. 1 ball for 18 holes.
