Ping B60 (what is it about this old putter from 1983?)

As you all know, my favorite #1 putter of all time is my prized Odyssey White Hot XG 2.0 that always stays in my bag. But yet, I have been messing around with my small collection, Ping Pal, Ping B60, Odyssey DF550, etc... and have found that I sink putt after putt with the B60, right up there with my White Hot XG! Just different feel (obviously) and a different sound (very loud, pronounced, "Click" type of sound).

Hmmmm... I wonder if I should try gaming my old B60, just once. There's just something about the shape, sight line, and of course the new PP58 full cord grip that Golf Galaxy put on for me. It's very lightweight, but yet, it seems to work for me. Anyone else ever use a B60 back in the day? What did you think?

I still use one… both stainless and becu

I’ve had 3 different versions of them and always seem to fall back to one if things get out of sorts with the putter. Something about that half blade half mid mallet look and the nice moderate toe hang. Definitely a big B60 fan.

I still have mine I bought in 1980.  Used it for many years.  Every now and then pull it out and roll a few, even play a round or two with it.  Just very light by today's standards.

If it's too light, PING have done several modern versions, from Sigma putters to the high-end Vault (which has changable weights). PLD offer it too.

It is light so you have to get accustomed to it if you decide to play it.
The B60 is a solid design. 
 I put 10 g of tungsten powder down the shaft of mine and it really didn’t help.  It’s still pretty light. 
I also have a Vault B60. Both are effective but I like the look of the old boy, especially the top line, better. 
Take yours out and play it!

Thanks everyone...  I have a tiny collection of putters from a few Pings, Odyssey's, and a vintage Wilson 8802.  My two best putters are my White Hot XG 2.0 (my main #1 putter), and the B60.  Both are very light, and both allow me to make putt after putt with them.  You are right... I will put the B60 in my bag and play a round or two with it and see how it goes (for real - instead of on a practice green and/or on my home putting carpet). 😎

Here's a hard to find BeNi B60. 36" heavy which I like but I can't putt a lick with it.

I have an old b60 that I bought years ago and never used. Just looked interesting to me and I got it pretty cheap. I recently left my new Taylor Made 1/2 Rossi putter on the course and yet to be returned. I tried the yes light b60 but actually putt pretty well with it! So much so I’m looking at getting a more modern version of it thinking ot may be just a bit heavier with a little more modern tech. The Scottsdale b60 with insert may be my answer. We’ll see
