Marks on new irons?

Guys,

After playing an old set of Pings for 25 years I finally broke down and bought some modern clubs. I got a set of the Cleveland Launcher XL irons (not the Halos) when they went on sale recently. I've played a couple of rounds with them and really like them. They feel great and I am more consistent with them. I was cleaning them after my last round and noticed most of the clubs have marks on the face where they are shinier than they were previously. I've attached images to show what I'm seeing. As you can see, the face is sort of a matte finish, but this club has some shinier streaks on it where it looks like some of the finish came off or was worn off. I've scrubbed the clubs well, so I don't believe it could be something shiny from the ball. And besides a small bucket on the range, I've actually only played with matte balls. The shape of the mark is odd too and doesn't really look like I should've made a mark like that hitting a ball.

Most of my irons seems to be showing something like this although this club (my 9i) is the most obvious. I guess I just want to make sure this is normal. The finish on these is much different than on my ancient Pings, so that may just be the way some modern clubs wear. I have no idea. Thanks in advance!

That's from rubbing against the other irons in your bag. Either play more golf (and the marks will blend in with the face) or buy iron condoms for your clubs (and be, "that guy").

In 20 rounds the pretty factory finish will have all worn away and you will be left with a uniform clubface that will look normal. Or get a piece of a Scotch-Brite pad and rub it off and it's gone in 10 seconds.
