Opnions needed: Should i return my skytrak plus?…AGAIN.

Im on my second skytrak plus unit. The first one i returned due to constant disconnect issues and also because it wouldn’t read my launch angle correctly.

Ive had this new unit now for about 2 weeks. It still disconnects in network mode, but its solid in direct mode.  And the launch angle problem is solved. The biggest thing thats making me waver on it is that i was starting to doubt the ball flight it gives me when i hit in my garage, and also because i think the club path and face angle numbers are just made up. Ive taken it to the range twice and the ball flight is 99% accurate, but for some reason in my garage it starts reading nothing but push fades and my shot is a draw. My misses are overdraw and pull hooks.

Today I paid for an hour at an indoor golf sim place in my area that uses trackman, to compare and see if maybe its “indoor golf swing” syndrome. And i found that the ball flight again is 99% accurate but the club path and face angle seem to be just guesses by skytrak. Its basically a crap shoot. The numbers were rarely within 3 degrees of each other, and on at least half the shots the numbers were opposite. For example, Trackman had me at 4* in to out with 3* closed to path, and skytrak would have 9* out to in with 7* open.  Also, the spin numbers were always 700+ off. And at least 1 out of 5 shots skytrak would give some crazy low spin number that was 5-6,000 rpms lower than trackman.

The reason i paid the extra $1,000 for the plus was because i wanted club path and face angle numbers. But if theyre just made up, whats the point?? Im wondering if i should just return this one and exchange it for the original skytrak and save myself $1,000 (maybe invest that in a better mat).  I really wish i could get the Bushnell L. Pro but i cant afford the $700 subscription fee. (3D ball flight is a must have for me)

The only reason i can think of to keep it is in hopes that they release an update soon that fixes the club data numbers. Anything else im not thinking of?

Sorry for the long post but i would really appreciate ur input. Especially if u own one of these launch monitors.

P. S.
If you’ve upgraded from the original skytrak to the plus, how do u feel about the upgrade? Was it worth it, and why? Thnk u!

So, it seems like you are looking for something that is a lot more accurate in terms of data. I had the same problem with my other simulator too.

I ended up getting a flight scope M+ instead. It is a lot more accurate than sky track in my opinion and really satisfies my cravings.

I hope this helps with the  accuracy problem

Cheers

Im looking for something that i can trust in terms of ball flight. And if im going to pay extra for club data, i want it to be real. Unfortunately i dont have the room for the Mevo +. Also im in my garage with a shop fan, which ive heard interferes with the Mevo.

thnk u for the reply.

mine has been pretty spot on. My wife and i use it and it seems to be very accurate. She tends to pull the ball and I can see it when she swings right to left across the ball and the Plus shows exactly that. As far as a the MEVO + look at the multiple youtube comparisons vs the Plus or the plus against higher end LM. The plus is as or more accurate as the MEVO and close to the higher end LM. Love ours lots of stats and with GSPRO it's a real win.
