Bag Boy Nitron and Vessel Players issue

Wondering if anyone has a solution with the issue of the Nitron rubbing the material off of the Players III/IV since it doesnt work with the Top Lock system?

 

I had the issue with the P3 and just got a P4Pro and hope to have a solution to prevent the damage on my new bag.

 

I was thinking of maybe laying a towel around it first?

There are several other threads about this on this site and others.  It seems to be a common issue.  The percentage of bags getting damaged vs bags sold is probably pretty low.  However, the overall number is high enough (and this issue is common enough) that I will not be buying a Vessel bag anytime soon (and I was completely ready to get one).

That is not what we want to see after spending that much on a golf bag. There are, as @Anser3 says, other threads about this here that don't give much confidence to the idea of buying one, even if these problems are not universal. I'm thinking of getting one. I like them when I see them at the range and their owners seem happy. But I can't ignore the negative experiences some have had with it. I'd have hoped that the inflated price would equate to more resistance to damage, not less. There are lots of less "elegant" bags around that survive carts, push carts, walking, rain, all kinds of things, without damage like this over years of use.
