Junior Membership Recs (near NYC)

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some junior golf membership recs near NYC. I’m 31 and work in the city so would mostly be out there on the weekends. Money isn’t an issue; I’d rather prioritize clubs that are an hour (max 1.5hr) from the city, with well maintained greens and a nice clubhouse/ younger community so I could find others to play with from the club as well. I know a lot of the Westchester/ NJ clubs are difficult to get into if you don’t know a member, but hoping this post can start the search. Thanks!

 

ps. If there’s a good women’s league (or if it’s generally friendly with having women join teams) that would be great!

I would suggest keeping it less than 1.5 or even an hour because traffic can be brutal at any time. Another thing to consider would also be if you plan on leaving the city would you move to Westchester, Jersey, or Long Island. Lastly, country club vs golf club?

 

With that said and money not being an issue the options are endless, aside from the hurdles to get in. There are countless options and any one can arguably be better than the next.

Engineers is a great track never gets old, hard to beat for the money. Great shape, greens are firm and fast. Good age range for membership. Dm with any questions

Watchung Valley has a great younger membership and a category of membership for younger, out of state members that’s pretty unique. Great course, extremely young membership, close to NYC, etc.

If I lived in Jersey, this would be high on my list of courses to consider
