Precision Rifle Flighted Shaft Identification Help!

Ok @Howard_Jonesjust one last question and I'll leave you alone 😁

I've got the set of heads Maltby TS3 coming in this week. I realized that the VCOG is lower in these than what I've been playing (TS4). I'm actually trying to keep my flight down a little so I'm wondering if a 6.5 or even 6.3 might help or is that negligible in this instance?

If you think it would make a difference in the overall flight, what tip trimming do you recommend to reach those #'s?

Lastly, I plan to butt trim to +1/2" over a "standard" (I have the measurements somewhere) gap wedge and then cut in 3/8" increments while attempting to keep SW around +1/2 pt per club. Ultimately I'm shooting for D5 in my GW and end at D1.5-D2 in my 4i. I've got tip weights coming too. I realize that this is somewhat of a frequency/Swing weight match Frankenstein build but I think it works for me.

Thanks again for everything!

im on travel, and only have my mobile, so its hard to see former post from you to get the full picture.

over lenght vs what?

if we talk + 0.5" from todays "std", we are 1.0" above RIFLE FCM std.

that makes them 0.6 stronger (6.5 becomes 7.1

for each SWP you go above D3, we go softer by 0.1, so D5 bring us down from 7.1 to 6.9 for the GW

I will have to plot all clubs with specs to tell you how the SET becomes, and here you are using 0.5 SWP progression (0.05 stronger for each club longer than GW, then weaker due to 3/8" vs 4/8", since only the GW will gain all 6 cpm from 1 inch above rifle std, the PW becomes 6/8 x 7 stronger...#9 becomes 6/8 x 6 stronger, #8 becomes 6/8 x 5 etc

if starting point is 6.5? we go stronger, not softer

Oh man that's a lot to unpack and thank you for even that bit of info.

Just a recap, I'm looking to soft step these x1 and start with the PW shaft in the GW. You mentioned this dropping them to 6.1. My set coming in is GW-4i but the shafts are PW-3i.

So I'm definitely aware that "standard" has no standard in this game when talking equipment lol. Looking at their chart for what they call "standard", GW and PW are in at 35.5" and then run the more common progression of .5" between clubs. I'd be looking at a 36" GW and PW.

Would you actually recommend sticking to 4/8" increment over 3'8"? I don't mind that as long as it doesn't shake up how the clubs are meant to play across the set. I know that longer will change things but I also want to keep it uniform all the way through.

Also, is there a recommended SW for these that allow for them to play their best?

Thanks again man I really appreciate it!

i would use 3/8", its easier to play, zo never mind how it looks on the paper, im just giving you the details so you know..

SS1 = minus 4 CPM or 0.4 FCM, so your Gw ends as FCM 6.5 with those specs
