TourStage TS 202 inquiry

I recently bought a set of TS-202.  

Few issues - question as a result:

 

1. A bit surprised based on the feedback here that I combed through prior to purchase, of the level of forgiveness.  It is very low based on my limited interaction to this point.  In fairness, the set I got has the NS PRO 950GH and I sense these are maybe not right for me.  Just a very odd feel.  Coming from PX 6.0 Rifle.   Oddly the NS PRO feels much harsher and also heavier - which I think is wrong on both counts.   Are these maybe not the most forgiving clubs around?  or am I simply yet to find my rhythm with them.  

 

2.  Does anyone know what type of finish is inside the cavity pockets? Have to either try to mimic it or completely remove it.  I fouled that part up with stripper for paint fill.  No need for jabs, I feel quite the fool.

Guess I am trying to find out if my expectations for the TS-202 were way off.

I had gathered from dozens of posts about them that they were a spectacular iron with a good level of forgiveness to them.    If it helps - several of my most played irons have been PING EYE2, 845s, CF16 APEX, CF19 APEX.

Not everyone can play every set.  I thoroughly enjoy playing mine, but I have sets that are widely adulated and I only played them once or twice before they migrated to the back of the pile.

I had a set many years ago. I wasn’t that good at the time and found them plenty forgiving. Can to this day distinctly remember an absolutely pured 5i I hit on a 200 yard par 3. I even remember that I was using the Strata ball that came in the gold box (gives reference to how long ago it was). Of all the sets I’ve sold, one of the few I wish I woulda kept. Always considered them the perfect combo of looks (I prefer a players iron) and forgiveness.

Mine were in the bag today with the 709 X-Drive Limited driver and a Spider GT-x putter.  Simply amazing feel and control.

UK special that just got delivered yesterday.  The headcovers got put back in storage for the OEM ones.

Going from PX 6.0 to NS Pro 950 seems like a huge change and could be causing you to hit it all over the face. I'd be more inclined to blame the shaft then head.

Agreed. IMO, most do not get along with NS Pro 950.
