Arnold Palmer "Bat Wing" irons with straight aluminum shafts. Any comments?

Hey all, I needed a set of batwing irons for a YouTube video I am planning. I bought a set of Arnold Palmer "half" batwing irons but they have a straight as an arrow aluminum shafts.

Does anyone know when and how long these where built?

I’m thinking the aluminum shaft era was mid to late 60’s and pretty much done bye 1970 in pro line clubs anyways. The 69-70 Wilson Staffs (Bullet Backs) for one was offered with them but have not seen a set of 71-72 (Button Backs) with aluminum shafts.

I do have a Spalding Kro Flite SW with an aluminum shaft that might be early to mid 70’s but it’s not a pro line club.

Arnold Palmer won using Aluminium shafts in '67, and the aluminium shaft craze all but fizzled out by 1971 or so.

I still have my father's X31s with Aluminium shafts. They produce a fantastic feel on full shots. He bought them in 1969.

Had a set of First Flight irons with "aluminum rocket" shafts by TT which I think dated from that late 60's early 70's time frame. Probably built in Chattanooga alongside Palmer irons of the same era. Beautiful clubhead but only in retrospect do I understand just what junk that shaft was. No feel or feedback whatsoever. But what do I know I also bought an early driver built with Shakespeare fiberglass shaft. Oh well I guess my addiction to trying the newest and greatest has been around for a while!
