Driver ballflight on my miss is a hooky top spin nose diver.. lol.... I am assuming not enough spin?

Title says it all, I know you can thave top spin w/ a driver BUT that is what the flight looks like. When I hit good baby draw but still falling out of the sky quickly. I have made a swing change and now my flight is strange. I have and love the VF6x in a Ping 10K head (9). I m turning 53 next month and thinking about going to a stiff shaft. I seem to be fighting the shaft a bit. By going to a stiff, I hoping for more ballspeed/spin and easier swing. My 6x is str8 in should I tip the Stiff a little? I know get on a monitor but I like to buy first then do so because I am a long time club junkie...

Definitely sounds like not enough spin.

 

Try a spinnier ball (with driver) to see if behaves the same.

Before you do anything else, especially since you've been working on swing changes, use foot powder spray (or equivalent) to check the face impact location and consistency.   Actual spin numbers from an LM wouldn't hurt (go to a local retail store and demo some new clubs 🙂   But face impact location is the #1 factor (by far) in how much spin is generated.

 

If the problem really is not enough spin - the specific reason why the spin is low is very important for coming up with the best solution.  And if the reason is due to face impact too high - then the 'normal' solutions (trying to get more dynamic loft somehow) is not going to be effective.

 

What might happen shaft flex change is something only testing will tell.  Lots of things are possible but I wouldn't get your hopes up to high.  But if the goal is to be able swing easier, don't expect more swing speed.  There are also some potential negative side effects to going softer.  Or it may not accomplish anything.  Only actual testing will answer any of those questions.   Buying a new shaft w/o testing first can be very risky.    Also, whether additional tipping might be needed (or not) will depend on a lot of variables so not a question anyone here can answer for you.
