help/suggestions/drills appreciated

so for some time now, i've been trying to transition to a more rotary swing. weather hasn't been great, so sadly, not a lot of progress to report. i'm a confessed underplane slinger and am having a tough time getting my body synched up (thanks to all who responded to my post a few weeks ago).

i thought it might be helpful for me to record a few face on shots to look at the rotary/lateral motion and what i see (or think i see) is that there's not a lot of lateral movement back but there's a ton of it coming forward. this seems weird to me because i still don't feel like my weight is getting up on my left foot and definitely have a spinning out feeling.

any help out there?

You are moving laterally in the backswing hence the reason that you need to slide back to the ball on the through swing this can be seen easily in the 2nd video where you have a tree behind you on your left hip at address.....see how far your hip moves away from this tree and then is forced to slide back past it on the way through from the slide you stand up a touch and as trhis happens and you are trying to turn you get the up and spinning out sensation....the slide back in the 1st move will also be a cause of why your club moves outside the line.

 

You need to hit balls with your feet together to help rid yourself of the lateral and feel the rotation and get a glove under your left armpit for the connection or a shaft along the toe line of the club to help with the path.....When hitting balls with your feet apart make sure that you get your left hip higher and more in line with your left shoulder then get a rod/shaft and place it in the ground and have it touch your left hip from here simply turn back keeping the connection and feel the left hip stays on the shaft as you turn on your spine then feel the left knee move back towards the target and rotate through the shot from your torso and feel that you move around the shaft with no lateral and are posted up on your left side as you are then able to really compress the ball and strike it great without having to slide.
