True Temper Bi Matrx for Titleist

While making the rounds thru my local Golf Galaxy used bin, I spied a 9.5º 975L-FE. It was in good condition and the sticker was $29.99 so needless to say I snagged it. The weird "steel and graphite" shaft installed in it didn't matter to me (I had visions of an EPIC floatin' in my head....).

However, once I got it home and researched the club archive at titleist.com, I found that the Bi Matrx (JWM EX-95, Stiff) was a factory install and have decided to leave it in for the time being.

Are there others who have in the past or currently game a driver (preferably Titleist) with this shaft installed? If so, what are your thoughts on it? Is it worth keeping or was the steel/graphite combination just a marketing ploy?

975JVS with the Bi-Matrix for Titleist was one of my favorite drivers of all time! It's in my basement right now!

This is the club I pull out when nothing is going right with the driver, it help me get my rhythm and timing back. At times I wonder why I don't just throw it back in the bag and make it my gamer.... damn the 460cc craze! :russian_roulette:

Played the same setup you purchased (9.5 L-FE w/BiMatrix stiff) for a season. It was certainly a bit on the heavy side but, as the previous poster said, it did help my timing. If I recall it launched pretty low, especially for a high-ball hitter like me. Overall it performed well, but the weight got to me.

still have the Bimatrix Rxi's in my hybrids

really stable and low launch

they play a LOT heavier then the stock weight would suggest due to the steel tip

Thanks for the input. I measured the shaft and its 44" long. Is this common to the application (perhaps to adjust for swingweight) or do you think mine has been cut down?
