Hitting driver wayyyy too high...new driver or shaft suggestions?

I'm not sure where to post this, but I'm thinking of a new driver or shaft, so I figured this would be okay. Anyways, here's the problem. I played today for the first time in 3 weeks and only the 2nd or 3rd time using the Aldila NV75-Stiff in my Taylor-Made r580xd. I have a 101-104 mph swing speed as tested on 2 or 3 different launch monitors, so relatively precise, though possibly not completely accurate. Anyways, I switched from a regular shaft (whatever came in the driver originally) to the NV75-Stiff. The ball is going ridiculously high in the air, to the point where I lose sight of it at the top of its flight. I'm only hitting the ball somewhere around 230 or 240 whereas with the regular shaft I was driving around 260 consistently. I don't really understand why this is happening. I tried teeing the ball lower, playing the ball farther back in my stance...I never got fitted for the shaft, but it was like $28 shipped for the shaft and I'm a mid-high handicap beginner so I kind of figured it wouldn't matter much what shaft (yes, I know half the people on this forum are going to think I'm insane for thinking this)...does anyone have any suggestions as to whether this is the shaft or my swing? I made really good contact with the ball, I ended up dead center of the fairway 10 times/4 were only slightly in the rough, nothing really bad but just high and short...anybody have any suggestions for new shafts or new drivers? I want something forgiving but i'm more concerned about the shaft at this point...thanks for reading, i know its really long winded :russian_roulette:

When you say high...

1. Is the ball starting a good trajectory and the rising up (ballooning)?

2. Is the ball just launching high and flat?

Regardless of your answers... I would say you haven't played in awhile so you might have a kink in the swing. Also, what kind of shaft were you using in your previous regular flex? Could be the characteristics of the shaft, but in my experience using the NV series is that it is a pretty low ish launching shaft. So, I would err... the a rusty swing.

Teeing it up lower and back in the stance will add spin. You need to do the opposite and tee it higher and further up in your stance. Fix you ball position and see what happens. Likely you could also have a swing fault as well like flipping which adds loft. Really don't think the shaft is an issue, if anything you should be getting a lower flight and spin by going to the newer shaft.

As far as the trajectory goes, the ball starts out perfect, with a mid-high trajectory but then it just keeps going up...for the first few seconds i think its gonna be great but then i keep thinking there is no way that is really going higher...then it does....

I didn't know that teeing it lower increased spin, I thought teeing it too high would make me scoop the ball, so i teed it lower so i wouldn't sky it, but that obviously didnt work out as planned...before the aldila shaft i was using the standard stock regular flex shaft (i don't know what it is, but it was a 65g shaft, and everything i hit with it hooked horribly)...

i think you are all right, it probably is my swing setup and actual swing...i'm gonna go to the range sometime this week so i'll try doing some of these things...im glad its not the shaft, i really like the weight and feel of it, but then again im sure if i got on a launch monitor it would tell me i need something completely different...thanks for the advice, keep it coming if you've got any other ideas! thanks!

How does teeing it lower add spin?

Thanks
