Instructors near Apex, NC

I have finally decided to get some lessons and have no clue where to start looking for a good, proven instructor. I have been talking to Ed Ibarguen at Duke, who is a Golf Digest Top 100 teacher, but am having a little trouble with the $180/ hour rates. If anyone knows of anyone in the area (I would even be willing to go down to the pinehurst are) I would greatly appreciate it.

I have an instructor by the name of Jeff Crittenden. He is the head instructor of the ESPN golf schools located at Bryant Park in Browns Summit, just an hour drive from us(I live in Apex also) The good thing is he will be here with me this Friday at Knights play(April 18th) along with a few other LD buddies. So if your interested, we will be up there in the evening, you can stop buy and chat with him. He was taught by Hank Haney, and is very knowledgeable of the golf swing.

Jeff and I will be at Knights play this Sunday around 12:30 to go over some things. He has to be back at Greensboro by 3-3:30 so we will be there a while. If your interested in coming over to talk with him, he will be available to answer any questions you may have.

At Pinehurst CC, you have Kelly Mitchum. In Raleigh, Josh Points at Raleigh CC. Both are great teachers and well worth what they charge, which is reasonable.

If you are willing to travel a tad then I would HIGHLY suggest Alasdair Dyer who is the head of golf instruction at the Nick Bradley School of Golf at Barefoot landing in Myrtle Beach. Nick Bradley is Justin Rose's instructor and Alasdair has numerous students on the PGA and LPGA tour. I live in Burlington NC and travel about once a month to see Alasdair and his golf instruction is second to none. I've used him to host clinics when I bring clients in to MB and he is just outstanding and can relate to ANY level of golfer. Good luck!

I've talked to Kelly on the phone about geting together. I have a few tournaments coming up and want to wait until after those first. I know that he's a very good player and an up and coming instructor. I'm looking for a teacher that is a combo of both good player and good instructor.

I decided to go with josh Points at Raleigh CC and had my first lesson on Friday. I was very impressed.
