Aldila NV hybrid vs. VS proto "by you" hybrid shafts

can anyone compare these two shafts?

I currently have a 19 degree Titliest 585 hybrid with a DG S300 shaft. I'm thinking about joining the 21st century and replacing the
steel shaft with a graphite shaft. I have an NV shaft in my driver and really like it. It seems that the NV and VS proto
are two very popular shafts in hybrids these days. Can anyone comment and compare the characteristics of the NV hybrid
shaft and the VS proto "by you shaft". I'm interested in ball flight, feel, dispersion, distance or any other observations anyone
may have. Thanks!

Go to this site, aldila closeouts. You can buy new NVS or NV hybrid shafts for $19.99 + $7 shipping direct from aldila. I bought a NV105 and it's really good. I wish I would have got the NVS. Depends on your swing?

Taking this personally since I have the Proto in all 3 of my hybrids.

"Worst"? Poor quality? High torque? Too tip stiff/soft/what? Saying something is the "worst" doesn't make sense unless you can define what characteristics make it so.

I hit a lot of hybrids and shafts. For me, so far, it's the "best". That means - high launch, mid-spin, smooth, easy to load, consistent.

I had the TItleist 585h with a NV shaft and now play an Idea Pro with VS Proto by You shaft. Obviously the club head is different, but I just love the VS Proto shafts. I agree with DrSchteeve that the VS Proto is higher launching, lower spin, smoother and easier to load compared to the NV. My sense is that the Proto is slightly stiffer. I even changed my driver shaft to a VS Proto.

His comment was the Proto by You stiff shaft was junk. In essence, not a stiff shaft at all. He tested it and was running more like a regular.

Strange, Golfsmith has the Proto By You hybrid listed for higher swing speeds than most other shafts. I think the stiff is recommended for 105-115 mph. Wonder why the discrepancy between what Golfsmith measured and your clubfitter?? I've got xstiff in my two hybrids, haven't had enough time with them to offer much of an opinion. Seems like high launch with a stright of fade ball flight.

I've had the Proto in drivers, fairway woods, and hybrids. It is smooth, fairly tip stiff, easy to load, good dispersion, high launch, mid-spin. It may play slightly soft to flex.

I wasn't aware that how a shaft plays to flex is a defining characteristic as to shaft quality. There are no uniform standards for flex, and many superb shafts play quite stiff or quite soft to flex.
