Leupold GX-I

Does anybody have one of these? How do they compare to the others that are out there? The specs really appeal to me, particularly the size of this unit. I just want to make sure that it is comparable to the others, particularly at identifying pins.

 

Leupold is one of the best optics brands out there so I feel pretty confident. Just looking for some feedback from someone that has used it.

Sorry if this is a little late, I use the GX-1 and find it great, I have a playing partners who use Bushnell Rangfinders and they comment on the GX being small and really eay to use and where did I get it.

 

I think they are a bit of a sleeper in rangefinder arena, their pricing is great the quality is terrific and the usability being small, light and accurate is great.

Also it is weatherproof. I'm not sure the bushnell v2 is.

 

UPDATE: I ordered the GX-1 from Edwin Watts and found it very nice. It is very small compared to the Bushnell V2. I found it pretty fast and very accurate. The shinier the target, the better for speed, but it is dead on non the less. I am very pleased with my purchase. The optics are very clear and love the choice of 7 recticles and the nice case.

I found it too be slow @ getting pins and multi targets. I put it up against nikon and bushnell and the nikon blew both away, it is 125$ more so you get what you pay for. Leupold isn't water proof. I think for the money its a good product.

Not correct !

 

The Leupold GX1 and Gx2 are both waterproof - or more correctly water resistant !

Just used a Leupold GX-I this past weekend against a Bushnell Scout 1000. Both are similar in size with the Leupold being a little smaller. In terms of performance, I think the Leopold was better at distances over 200 yards. The button on the GX-I is also much more responsive than the Scout, which makes it easier to hold steady. However, I'm not sure if the GX-I is worth the price premium over the Bushnell Scout 1000. At the GX-I price, a Bushnell 1500 isn't too far.

 

I've haven't used a Nikon rangefinder, but I will say that one-handed vertical rangefinders are not as easy to use as the two-handed horizontal models.

Is the Leupold Gx1 vertical or horizontal ?

I have a GX-1. Easy to use and compact. I have no problem picking up flags with it.
