Annika plays a FT5 DRAW has the "L" lcg designation with a Fuji 54MW stiff. Her fws (X tour and hyper X)has the old GBB "firm" shafts installed as well. Her irons are combos of X18s and XProtos as well.

Lorena plays a 7.5 loft Rapture with a GD PT6 SR (stiff-regular) and carries only a 56 wedge.

Lorena plays DGR300s

 

Mi Yun Kim plys the Honma TourWorld 460 with some sort of V43 shaft in regular flex, TW 911 fws in 14, 17 20 lofts, Callaway Big Berthas in 23 and 26 loft, Honmas in 6-11 irons and Fourteen Wedges 56 in J Spec and strangely a MT28V3 in 58, PUtter a Ping B60.

That says something right there. Also, not sure what she has in the bag now, but back in late 90's/early 2000-ish timeframe when Karrie Webb was world #1 and beating the pants of everyone she also played DGR300's (sensicore even) in her 981's. And was one of the last players to stop playing the Titleist Balata ball...

 

There a lesson here somewhere... :)

And was one of the last players to stop playing the Titleist Balata ball...

A couple of interesting things as well. Only 1 player with X flex in driver..nope not Laura Davies but Christina Kim. There was also one lady with X100s!!.

Didn't GP use DGLite X100s? Those flex maybe a tad firmer than DGS300.

You're probably right mate. I recall seeing it on Golf Digest a couple of years ago and being surprised in the difference in flex between her irons and woods. I guess if they were DG Lite's, it would bring them closer together.

 

While you're on, I've been looking at the Japan Golf Digest site which is 1000 times better than the U.S version. There are loads of players using that black Srixon driver (Koumei Oda, Hirofumi Miyase, Satoru Hirota, Hidemasa Hoshino etc). I desperately want to get my hands one after you showed us those pics.

The 1050s seem to spin a bit more, although my friend who plays both (also stiff in 1050 and reg in DG) say they are very similar flexwise but 1050 has a better feel and of course lighter weight. The 1050 may have had lower trajectory but that could've been the head design. I would say the spin on the 1050s were very close to the spin on TT TCs.

Jun Kikuchi - Interested to know if his Yonex Nano blades are proto's?

Hideto Tanihara - What are those wedges? They seem to be everywhere on the JPGA.

Yui Ueda - Satin MP-37's, need I say more.

Taichi Teshima - Is his Mizuno driver a proto or an old model. Any idea of the size?

SK Ho - There's a lot of custom stamped Mizuno's out there but his MP-32's really caught my eye.
