Golf channel

Hey all,

I emailed the golf channel a long time ago and said they should do a show on rules. Wouldn't this be something you would all watch? I think it would help new golfers as well. I think it would be a fairly easy show to produce, just show someone hitting a shot, then show their shot in spot where there could be some confusion on how to proceed.

I really think this would be one of their most watched shows... Me and my friends were even talking about doing one locally (we're in TV), but alas I have no drive to do stuff like this outside of work!!! hehe

Anyway, what do you all think?

If the BB was any indication, they may need to watch a show on the rules before putting one on.

That "divot" ruling was bogus.

Would be a good segment in a larger show, especially if it included etiquette, but other than endless hypothetical situations, I don't think there's enough material for a whole season of half-hour shows about golf rules.

Since you work in TV, you might consider a monthly show for public access TV or your station about the local golf scene that could include rules and etiquette. Next thing you know, TGC might buy your show. "The Pro Shop" or "Tee to Green" or something like that.

I wouldn't care if it was part of a bigger "how to" type show. But I think you would be surprised as to how many half hour shows just on rules that could be done.

Actually, we discussed doing this on our Access channel, but we are all kind of lazy. Plus, it's tough to do something like this when I work in TV every day...not that I don't love it. But you have to have a balance. We just took a bunch of layoffs, so maybe the guys may want to do something that they can parlay into something bigger... so it's a thought.

I know I would watch the show... BTW, as to the format and whether rules could fill a whole show... again, it's the job of the TV professionals to come up with something that will work, whether or not it's just rules or rules and swing tips, or whatever.

Trust me, I have ideas that can fill at least a season!!! And you will watch ...why? (Costanza) "Because it's on TV" hehehe
