My 6 iron SS is 87mph

what should my driver SS be around?

Hey,

I don't know what my SS for my dirver is because I don't own one but I am looking. Hoping to get some time on a monitor/trackman to get some numbers but I am asking those who have a similiar SS as mine to tell me what their SS is so have a ballpark as to what I may be around. Here are my numbers with a 6i:

SS - 87mph
Ball Speed - 116mph
Smash Factor - 1.36

I haven't carried a driver in years but am looking at the G10 and L4v; Hit those at a range last night and both were nice.

If you have the same SS as me what are your driver numbers?

My 6 iron is about the same as yours and I was just on a launch monitor last week. My driver was 103-106 mph with a ball speed of 149-153 mph. I hope that will help.

how do you like the 8.5* driver? i'vebeen thinking of higher lofeted drivers (like 11*-12* range) because of all the talk about benefiting from higher lofted drivers.

 

my 6i carry is 161 and a total of 168. i am not sure what to expect with a driver though.

i haven't carried a driver in years so i do not know the answer to that...also that is why i started the post so I could get a ballpark on what to expect for my numbers with the driver.

 

last night it looked like they were carrying around the 230-240 yard mark, but my distance judgement is horrible. I know the fence screens stopped a little past 250 and some of my drives were hitting/landing aroudn the bottom of the screen on about 25-30% of my shots.

i just went to golfsmith and got some wierd numbers. the machine was saying that my SS with the driver was the same as my swing speed with the 6i.

 

not sure if that was working properly or not.

that is what i was thinking. there were some shots that popped up around 112-115, but it felt as if i was swinging the same speed on all the shots, and not 20+mph faster on those few.

 

i'm going to go find another place to get my numbers cause those are whack.

I love my 8.5* driver but I have a very high launch angle that is why I carry a lower lofted club.

I have the same 6i ss and my driver ss is 103. I have a Hibore XLS 10.5 that I hit about 265 on average - probably averaging about 270 right now with hard fairways.
