Swing weight

I just recieved a set of Callaway X Forged 3-PW with Flighted Project X 5.5 irons. I am having the irons adjusted 1 degree upright and 1 degree strong. As were doing that we checked all the swingweights on the irons and they were all D6. Stock is D2. What can do to adjust them down to D1. Does anyone do this and if so how much would it be? Thanks for any help.

your screwed!! you can change your grips to a very, very, big midsize or you could increase the shaft lengths with plugs, or you could shave off some of the metal to bring down to a D2..

did you get thme on ebay??? LOL!

if you got from areputable dealer, callaway will take of you.. other than that... good luck!!

Those seem very heavy. Mine are at D1 with PX 5.5. I wanted to get them to D5 because I plan to take 1/4" off. I play my ironas based off a 37.75" 5iron.

...we checked all the swingweights on the irons and they were all D6. Stock is D2...

 

Did your clubmaker read the correct side of the slider on the Scale? D6 is quite a bit off from D2, especially when the 5.5's are like 5g+ lighter than the 6.0's.

 

I had X-Forged with 5.5's that were custom to D4 and Callaway said it was a pain the but to get that swing weight.

The lenght is okay. My specs on the 5 iron is 38". Everything was adjusted correctly and to my specs. But the swingweight was D6. I checked on my machine and we checked it in the pro shop. I have had alot of sets of clubs, Pings, Titleist, Mizuno and usually play with nothing higher than D2.... I wish I could show all of you and let you feel them.

there probably tip weighted, pull a shaft and see if theres a weight in it

In general, if I cut a 1/2" off the shaft(s) how much will drop the swing weight? The store told me that the clubs were a half inch over Callaway standard. So if I cut the shaft down a half inch, will the swing weight drop? And if so how much?

Don't touch them if they are really D6 at the right lenght.

 

Call Callaway customer service and they'll take care of them for free.

 

Just don't bother spending money or time to get it right (unless you are looking for perfection to the dots).....Callaway will take care of you for sure 100% if that is really their mistake.
