Simple question about the tip of my PM702

It is sealed..no whole in the tip.....???

The tip of my PM702x is sealed up. I just got finished tipping it and before i cut .75in off the tip, the tip had a whole in it (as it should). When I tip it, I look at the tip of the shaft and it is sealed

So I need to drill the tip for ventilation? Or just leave it

you bought a pullout probably.. might be some left over epoxy ? ramrod it out...because if it ever works it way loose you wont like the sound.

yea it was a pullout......so the only thing I have to worry about is if it comes loose? I tried to take a small screw driver and push it back up the shaft and it wasn't budging

 

So I can leave it in their?

id drill it out...without a hole, the shaft will keep on riding out of the hosel as it dries...

Ok well that is good to know.....I am guessing I am going to have to be really careful doing this in order to not damage the shaft. I guess I should start with the smallest bit possible

yup, start with a small drill bit and just stay as close to the center as possible.

 

If you are really worried, just head the shaft with an electric heat gun and use a toothpick to dig the epoxy out after you get it warm. Drilling isn't that difficult, just stay in the center.

This is common place if the shaft has been pulled by a top club fitter. They 'dip' them to help protect the tip while it is out of the club. It needs to be drilled out and it will be fine.
