Looking for a lightweight shaft for MP-57

Right now I'm playing the DGS300 +1" in my MP-57 PW-5i at D4. Prior to a recent injury I my 6i SS was mid to upper 80s and 165-170 carry with a moderate tempo. I My ballflight varies but it is mid-high, especially PW-8i.

 

I need to find a shaft that is lighter in weight and a bit softer than my current choice to lessen some of the vibration impact and to maintain SS as I slow down my swing a bit. I was interested in Nippon but they seem impossible to buy the 950s for us normal folk.

 

Any suggestions -- I'd appreciate the help.

The user PlayersEdge can get a hold of Nippon shafts. I think Joe Kwok can get those too. If you google nippon shafts and find their website, there's some sort of listing of distributors on there I think.

I cannot help you find the Nippon shaft in the US. But I would tell you to select at least "S" flex.

You might need to think about the shaft trimming configuration as well because you're using +1" as the shaft is very soft comparing to S300.

Nippon NSPro 950GH is very light weight, lots of kick, so it will launch the ball higher and more spin.

You will surely get more distance with the same swing speed but the shaft does not the perform so well in windy condition or out of the rough.

All in all, definitely the shaft that you are looking for.

it all depends on the ball flight that you are looking for. If you like the trajectory that you are getting out of the DG S300 shaft go with either the dynamic gold SL or the dynalite gold SL that is the stock shaft for the MX 25 series. If the vibration is bothering you in the steel shafts, you can either try putting a vibration dampener down the shaft or maybe even try out a graphite shaft. The aldila 105 gram graphite is a great shaft as well as the MFS 115 shaft from matrix. I have personal experience with the MFS 115 shaft due to similar reasons as you and they are a great weight as well as there is no vibration in the shaft. Any questions you have send me a PM

if you like the s3oo feel then go for the same shaft in the sl version. the swingweihgt will be the same but the overall weight will be alot less.
