Looking to get a membership somewhere next summer that won't break the bank. I will be 25 next summer (I know some courses offer cheaper memberships based on age).

I'm not looking for the nicest track, but something affordable. The cheapest I've found thus far is $695 per year for an under 30 membership at Mississippi Dunes. This comes with restricted tee times (after noon on weekends)

Does anyone know of some other good deals? I'd like to play as much golf as I can next summer.

I guess it just as much matters whereabouts you live in town. I had the same idea as you, play AMAP. Being new to the area last fall, I played all the courses in my area to get an idea for which ones I liked. After deciding, I tracked down membership, cart pass and range pass info. I weighed the value of the services as well as the accessibility (I often play solo) & atmosphere of the course.

 

The course I chose was middle of the road. It's well maintained, fun and I've played 40 rounds since May 1, even a few 36+ hole days and met some nice people to boot. There's some good fall specials out there now, so check out some tracks. Personally, I'm not down w/ the time restrictions on weekends. What if you get in with a solid group and they like to play early Sat & Sun? Turn 'em down or pay twice?!? Just some thoughts....

See if you can get a buddy to go in with you. A lot of courses will give you the 'couples' rate in this economy.
