This method is not pretty but it works and is easy to do. Get a piece of solid wood that is about 2.5 to 3.5 inches wide by roughly 6 inches long. Take a piece of masking tape and put it over your Cameron weights. Use a marker to color in the holes. Then put the masking tape on the piece of wood in the middle. Put nails through the wood where the holes are marked. Penetrate the wood about 1/2 inch.

You don't have to use the same number of nails as the Cameron weight--three will work. You can do all of them if you want. Once done, flip the tool over and whack the ends of the nails to blunt them so they don't scratch the weights when used.

Once you have your "tool" ready, put a couple layers of masking tape over the weights so you don't scratch them.

It's best to use a little heat beforehand to loosen up the Loctite. If you use a heat gun it won't harm the paint.

Just use a pair of snap ring pliers, but first heat with a heat gun as they have some sort of loctite on the treads, comes right off peice of cake .

Or use a pair of needlenosed pliers. I've done it on the Newport Detour (same mechanics as the Select). No need to make an elaborate tool or buy one.

I also recommend putting a piece of masking tape over the weights (and punching through it to reach the holes) to protect the weight from scratches.

Snap ring pliers work great. It always cracks me up to hear people bitching and moaning about having to send in a Studio Select back to Scotty to get the weights changed when you can do it yourself for nothing! Well, you will need a set of snap ring pliers and lead tape. The only difference being you won't have the adjusted number engraved on the weight you change!

I add weight to Camerons all the time. remove the weight, and there is room inside to add 10 to 15 grams of lead tape in EACH weight if you want too.

Deerslayer, Do you mind do elaborate a little on how you do this? For example, do you actually stick the lead tape to the inside or onto the weights or do you just screw the weights back into the putter with the lead tape loose? Also, are the original weights still flush with the bottom of the putter after adding the lead tape? Do snap ring pliers come in different sizes? If so, which size do you use? Lastly, do you use anything to prevent the pliers from scratching the weights or is that a non-issue? Thanks for the info, I look forward to my "custom" weight change

So if I add a nickle under each weight how much mass does that add? Do I secure them w/ double back tape or am I better off using the lead tape?

Thnaks for the info. Cheap way to pick up 10 grams ($.10!). I'll try it soon.

thanks.. I know its just putting and there shouldnt be a lot of movement or impact but I just didnt want those suckers coming off mid-round. And knowing me, i'd probably lose one on the green or on the way to the green.

BTW, I made my own tool last night as per one of the suggestions from a member. Used 4 nails, and a piece of wood. ahahaha dremeled the nail down to size and sanded off the sharp edges.

Works great!!
