SS 101-103 Current ball Z-Urc, just picked up a dozen Z-Stars, they passed the putter/carpet test. I got rained out on monday, so will have to wait till this weekend get the on course test. Much better feel off the putter than the Z-Urc. I have heard many good things about the ball cant wait to play them this weekend.

SS varies, but driver distance averages 270, 7i goes 160.

 

I ended last year with a 20 handicap index (my fourth year in a comeback from an 18 year lay-off -- but now with a family).

 

And I play blades. July 4 I shot an 82 on a long, difficult course, and I was elated. Considering the irons that most knowledgeable people would say I have no business playing, I think I was greatly aided by this ball:

The spiel on the box says it "climbs the clubface to launch high and carry deep," and yada, yada, yada. It just feels right, and I like the flight profile.

 

My other faves are Titleist Pro V1 392, Pro V1x, NXT Tour, and Maxfli Tour Fire. They all feel good to me, but I haven't duplicated the success I had that day with the Maxfli Fire. Maybe I need a ball to "climb the clubface" to help me with consistency on my more unforgiving clubheads!

The Nike Black and Platinum are without a doubt premium balls, but they feel HARD, like rocks to me.

Have never been fitted for a ball, so I would say that would be the best way to figure out what is best for me, but I do know I like distance off the tee with minimal spin, stop and spin on the greens with approach shots, good feel off wedges and a soft feel on the putter. I have tried many balls on the course (ss 100-104 with driver), nike, titleist, callaway, srixon, callaway, and taylormade. Out of all of these balls, i prefer the Bridgestone B-330s. I think finding the right ball is preference, and what you want the ball to do. But, I am curious enough to get a fitting this season with different balls and to see if this is the right ball for me after all.

i love how golfwrx has a higher average ss than the tour. that being said

 

100 mph ss

ball nop it has the nicest sort game spin and feel and only sacrifices 6 7 yards of the tee 9 iron or 8 iron who cares thats why i play the nop

Thanks Anthony Kim (from the PGA???), but this is how fast I swing 100 on average, 104 if I go after it! By the way the PGA tour average ss is 110-115, thats why PGA players use the clubs that they do and get distance averages over 280.

Why:

-E5's - use these in spring when it's wet and there is little roll. Also use them often on par 3's when I need to hit it high and stop it quickly. Also, I use these on hot, windless days when the ball seems to carry forever.

-AD333 - Will start using these this spring. I need to learn their strengths and weakness.

-Laddies - At < $1.00 a ball, I use these on holes where there's water in play or for long forced carries over marsh or waste areas. When I've really smacked a drive (for me in the 240-250 yard range), normally the ball is the Laddie.

-DT Roll - my father-in-law gave me a dozen for XMAS. I intend to use them on windy days when the ground is dry and firm.

I love to B330RX but is it my massive strength or does anyone else think that one good iron strike and the cover looks worse than an ENRON document???
