2006 TITLEIST EQUIPMENT BOOK HAS ARRIVED

AM I LATE IN SAYING....

I dunno if i'm late in saying this or not, but I got my 2006 Titleist equipment book in today from the rep in my area. I've see a lot of threads asking q's about the 905R like: what the stock and custom shaft options gonna be, confusion on cc, and such. Well I have the holy book of golf so ill list off any interesting stuff.

DRIVERS:
The 905R has an Aldila NV65, GD YS-6+, Fujikura Speeder, and UST ProForce V2 75 as stock shafts (these are also now available in S and T now). The custom options are: Aldila NVS65, Graf. Blue, and Fujikura Pro95. It is 460cc!!! Loft options are: 7.5, 8.5, 9.5, 10.5, 11.5.

I haven't seen the F3-05 or and of the new hybrids i've heard about so i assume they are coming out next season. the 904F are still offered

IRONS
The new Irons available are the 695 MB and CB and the 775.CB

The 695 look great. Both have a Z Cavity/Muscle design which removes weight from the heel shifting the center of gravity closer to the face for a more solid feel. Also a small progressive offset and dual hosel lengths are a feature.

The 775.CB i found especially entriguing. There is a strong multi-material face insert on the 3,4,5 irons and is supposed to be 80% of the weight of the clubhead. there is also a forged aluminum vibration dampener bar on 3,4,5 which works in unison with the insert and reduces unwanted vibration.

WEDGES.

Pretty much the same sm except for the oil can feature. They look superb and i can't wait to order my set. the current lofts are still 54,56,58, and 60 although i have seen a couple 52* floating around on ebay

PUTTERS
NEW TO THE SC RING. The circa 62 represent a classic sc look and feel. Milled from carbon steel and finished in black oxide. They come in 3 balde ( No. 1,2,3) options as well as a mini-mallet (No.5). These look great as well.

im sure they didnt want to put the 585h and the 906f because there still prolly working on them

i also herd about vokey and a new design he prolly still working on them

 

i put a topic about them hopeing i would get an answer saying those would come out in the summer some time

Also could you list the lie angle of the 905R ??

Ttileist website now shows that the 905R will be available in March. Still no specifics on the website though.

Just spoke with my local pro and Titleist is bringing in the TLM (Titleist Launch Monitoring) system to our club in April. It will drive me crazy to wait until the end of April to get my 905R, but It is better to be fitted correctly than to rush and buy something that is not perfectly suited for my game.

Sounds amazing. I know I finally saw the R on their website. The specs in the catologue are nlimited, but better than nothing. The launch moniter sounds cool. I've already been fitted for my R and am receiving it in 2 weeks (the wait is killing me). I'll be sure to put up some pics.

Ha. I've been a steeler fan most of my life. I'm from south jersey if you call that from around the area. It's either that or the eagles and I hate them. I have relatives from there and my dad is from Butler.

Believe it or not, the 695CB are 2° stronger through the whole set compared to the 695MBs. 17° - 46°.

This is a break in their recent tradition of 48° standard for PW (though the 735 is 47°, but the 1° break is at the 6 iron...)

 

I don't know why they went so strong on the CBs, as the 690•CB were plenty long (though high hitting, for me anyway)

pegleg is right. the CB are very strong this year. What really surprised me this year was the 775.CB have a 45* loft!!! A little strong for my taste. And no problem with the info fellas. I get a lot of updates from my titleist rep and am happy to share the info. Pics of R will come.

Does the book say anything about the face of the 905r?. Although is supposed to be square I´ve seen many comments that it could be closed...

It does briefly mention that the 905R will actually have an open face, but I do not know what the degree of the angle is. It will probibly be minor to allow for an alteration to make it square-face.

New titleist book is in eh?...anything different from last year...2004?...2003?...2002?:) I know I am being sarcastic so I will go ahead and apologize now. My opine though is Titleist lost their edge on tech along with their designs not changing (unless you call simply changing the size of the driver head change) and Cobra (their little sis) passed them a few years back. OK all you Titleist guys...go ahead and shoot me. :D
