How large should your hands be to use oversize (jumbo) grips?

Or any other comments on grip size...

I am constantly debating this question. My hand is 8 1/2 inches long and my longest finger is 3 3/4 inches long. I like the feel of the jumbos but can they be too big. I printed the Lamkin hand chart and I started my wrist on sheet, which is where I think you are supposed to line it up, and it said I should use the jumbos. I am somewhat lost on the topic and any knowledge you have would be helpful. I have huge hands and like the feel of Jumbos but I just never see anyone else using them. But then again I rarely see people my size on the course.

I religiously use midsize grips, and I wear a mens ML glove. To me it feels right, feels like the grip fits in my fingers with out too much wiggle room. If I use regular grips, I put the grip in my fingers and take my grip and it feels like hte club can move all over the place. I think its a personal preference thing to a degree.

Golferpimp: That makes sense and I know what you are talking about with the standard size grips. I tried my i10's with the ping standard size grips and my hands ached the next day from trying to hold on to the club.

 

I can hit the ball with any grip and I hit it straight with the jumbo, midsize and standard grip. I squeeze my hand into a men's XL glove. I can't use the titleist gloves because they run too small. I go with the Footjoy F3 glove and love it. I like the feel of jumbo but I guess I created the thread to confirm what I already knew. More answers are welcome. Chat it up fellas.

Your hands would be slightly smaller than mine. I love my Golf Pride DD2 +1/16 grips. The oversize grip fits well and the feel in this grip is terrific.
