Just wanted to share with everyone how changing my lie angle had benefited my swing. You can view the post on the link below. But this post is more about how I got my irons 6 degrees flat.

Initially had my irons bent 2 degrees but have always struggled with hitting the ball left and right. And wanted very much to hit a fade without losing distance. While reading a post here, a post said that Hogan's irons were 6 degrees flat compared to today's lie angle standards. I have been playing Miura and was able to bend the lie 6 degrees flat. A couple of friends saw how the lie angle changed my swing and ball pattern, they were eager to try. Unfortunately, we realise pretty soon that most irons won't be able to go that flat. Even a change of 3 degrees on quite a few forged irons were putting some strain on the irons.

I am guessing the Miura 2 piece construction make them very easy to bend. During this period, I also read up on why lie angles today were so upright and found that because quite a few golfers slice their shots, the more upright angle actually helps them to hit it straighter or with a draw. IMO, it could mean that for a golfer trying to get their swing right, the more upright angle does more harm then good. Just my thoughts.

Overall, just darn happy I took the suggestion to bend my irons.

You could do it to irons other than Miura's. I bent a Nike Pro Combo 6 iron 9° upright without any trouble. It looked awful, but it wasn't difficult.
